Attorney Mechanical, Industrial and Safety Engineer

Applies his practical engineering expertise to the legal analysis of the liability associated with process equipment, medical devices, facilities and the environment. He was task group leader for the robotics and mechanical sections of the revised SEMI S-2 (Guidelines for Semiconductor Equipment Safety). He was a co-author of SEMI S-8 (Ergonomic Guidelines for Semiconductor Process Equipment and SEMI S-10 Risk Assessment). He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, an M.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering, and a J.D. in Law. Mr. Bass is a registered professional safety engineer.

Mr. Bass has taught graduate safety science courses for the University of Southern California Institute of Safety and Systems Management teaching courses in Process Safety Management System Safety Engineering Techniques, Safety Management, Failure Analysis, and Safety Law. He has also taught courses in product liability prevntion at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Mr. Bass is the author of Products Liability: Design and Manufacturing Defects 2nd Edition, published by The West Group and editor of Managing for Product Liability Avoidance, 3rd Edition, by Commerce Clearing House. He has published numerous papers and is a frequent speaker on safety law and product liability at professional seminars and conferences.

Has over 15 years of experience developing and implementing industrial hygiene and safety programs for manufacturing, engineering, design and environmental projects.  His responsibilities include reviewing site safety plans for hazardous materials projects, providing technical instruction to clients throughout the country and consulting on all areas of occupational and engineering design safety. Mr.Corpuz is a certified Industrial Hygienist. He earned his M.S. in safety from the University of Southern California and B.S. degrees in industrial hygiene and biology from California State University, Hayward.

PETER L. LAGUS, Ph.D, C.I.H., President.
Dr. Lagus founded Lagus Applied Technology Inc. to provide consulting and measurement services as well as measurement instrumentation for tracer gas, ventilation, air flow and indoor air quality measurements. Dr. Lagus has published over twenty technical papers and authored over 50 technical reports for government and industrial clients. He is active in many professional and standards organizations which include: ASTM, SEMI, ASHRAE, Air and Waste Management Association. Is a Certified Professional Ergonomist and management consultant with over 15 years of engineering and human factors experience. Mr. Morelli's work is dedicated to integrating principles of management and work design to reflect real human capabilities and needs. This approach blends the psychological elements of personal awareness, consciousness and integrity with leading edge technical knowledge about how and why people work. Mr. Morrelli is an adjunct Professor of Human Factors for the Industrial and System Engineering Department at S.J. State University and was the Environmental, Health & Safety Manager for major wafer fab in Santa Clara, CA.

Mr. Perkins is a registered Professional Electrical Engineer, a registered Professional Quality Engineer and a Certified Product Safety Manager with over thirty years experience in product certifications, product regulations and ISO 9000. He has product safety manager for Tektronix, Incorporated, specializing in UL and other approvals and certifications for the company's equipment. Mr. Perkins sits in on many technical standard committees including IEC 950, Safety Standard for IT Equipment and IEC 1010, Safety requirements for electrical equipment for measurement control and laboratory use.

Mr. Montrose is of the Montrose Compliance Services, a full service regulatory compliance firm specializing in Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Product Safety. His staff has experience in extensive design, testing and certification of Information Technology Equipment and specialize in the international arena including the European EMC and Low Voltage Directive for both Industrial and Heavy Industrial Equipment.

Mr. Montrose is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), the IEEE EMC Society and db Society. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the IEEE EMC Society.
